Free Thinking

Just a quick post about free thinkers...

I've been hearing a lot of stuff about free thinkers lately. Mostly because I've finally found people who share my views as a "free thinker". But what is a free thinker?

Free: without cost, the ability to choose-uncontrolled...and blah blah, we all know what being free is. I just don't think many people actually understand the meaning or realize how much their choices stem from control.

Thought: To have a conscious mind- able to make decisions.

So "Free Thinkers" are merely people who are able to think without preconceived notions passed down through tradition or ordered by some authority or institution.

You can still be a free thinker if you're a christian or any other faith. You can question your beliefs...it's ok I promise. If your faith, whatever that may be, warns against it then you aren't even free at all. We have will and reason and the ability to know right from wrong and if those things that make us human are controlled from any outer source then what are you?

Open the lines of communication whoever you are and whatever you believe. It seems so simple but it's a scary thought to have to figure things out for yourself. We've been tought to learn from people we're told are better than us or know better. The idea of faith in any religion is applied to your life.

I have talked to many people who believe the big things in life aren't meant for them. "Oh" they say, "Oh that's too complicated, I just leave that up to God." Or "Oh that's just too much to worry about, I'll just let my government figure it out."

If you have faith without knowledge to base it on then you are not free. Since when did knowledge become so evil? Come on tell me, when? Uhhh I think there was a garden or something and a couple "powerful trees". Apparently we were never suppose to be smart enough to know good from evil, because some God guy who created us said we could live forever as long as we remained in the dark.

This is where faith in any Jewish based religion loses all credibility for me. If you believe the story of creation than you believe you were meant to be mentally retarded. Since a smart gal named Eve ate (or smoked) some fruit you now have the ability to know right from wrong. Uh oh now that you have the ability, you better not use it for fear of eternal Hell fire. So here take this book and live by it or die. Never let anyone tell you to think otherwise and actually just don't even have conversations with anyone that has decided to think for themselves.

Far to many are slaves to this idea that knowledge is bad and not meant for everyone. If you think this applies only to religion you are dead wrong. This idea that knowledge is meant for them is your slave driver. You are marching towards a cliff on the edge of the abyss and you have faith that someone somewhere knows you'll be ok.

Wake up. It's ok to think or we wouldn't have the ability in the first place.

Wake up!
